Your Hostess:  Shirley Reid

I moved to Te Aroha approximately 5 years ago fromAuckland where I worked for NZ Herald and ran “Connextions,” ( a dating column). So literally, I came from trying to connect people looking for love, to Mt Te Aroha, the mountain of love. I have enjoyed extensive travel both internally and internationally to such areas as Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, Australia. Africa and the Pacific Islands.

 

 Career directions have changed too. One of my interests is food and cooking and I qualified as a Chef at Wintec, Hamilton 2 years ago. I am a people person, therefore guaranteeing friendly hospitality and a good knowledge of the area I now live.

 

My other interests include photography, walking my dogs, some writing and travel.

 

There is no traffic noise yet the villa is just a 3 minute drive to the town centre, cafe's, spa and shops.  Guests can enjoy a 20 minute stroll via the wetlands bird sanctuary to town.  We are happy to make a reservation at one of the local restaurants, spa pools, therapeutic massages or any other activity that takes your fancy.  The guests private lounge and dining rooms are tastefully decorated to provide a comfortable relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  The bedrooms have their own personality with emphasis on quality beds and fine linens, each with it's own TV, well appointed ensuites with a full range of NZ quality toiletries and big fluffy towels.  Guests will find many little extras - chocolates, bottled water and dressing gowns.

Te Aroha is a beautiful historic Edwardian spa town, nestled at the base of Mt Te Aroha (952m) retaining much of the heritage, achitecture and charm of yesteryear.  Famous for the Hot Springs Domain, Te Aroha attracts visitors from all over the world to it's sparkling hot mineral spas and the world's only hot soda water geyser.
